It’s not selfish to want more rest.
It’s not selfish to want more space.
It’s not selfish to want more you.
I’ve felt that tension working in a corporate job … even with plenty of vacation time and a full work calendar, I’ve caught myself thinking:
“What if something goes wrong at work while I’m out?”
“Will the work get done?”
That guilt is real. But so is the truth:
Taking care of yourself doesn’t make you less committed. It makes you more human.
And as a coach, I’ve seen how brave it is when clients finally say:
“I want more time for me. More peace. More purpose.”
They often carry so much with careers, caregiving, and high expectations. But the shift happens when we pause and ask:
π What’s truly in your control?
π What’s outside of it?
π And what’s just noise or fear that’s weighing too much?
Reflecting on what’s yours to hold and what isn’t unlocks so much agency.
So today, I’ll ask you too:
If you were honoring yourself more fully… what would shift?
π For the days when your inner critic gets loud.

Morning coffee thought β
You are not behind.
You are becoming.
I know it’s easy to measure yourself against timelines, titles, or the version of your life you thought you’d have by now.
But growth isn’t linear. Becoming who you’re meant to be takes time, unlearning, and grace, especially on days when the world feels fast and you feel slow.
This is your reminder that becoming takes courage. You’re doing it even if it’s quiet. Even if it’s not obvious to everyone else.
π¬ Save this for the days your inner critic gets loud. And if you needed this today, someone else does, too!

A few years ago, I caught myself trying to “fix” everything like my routines, my work, and my words. I thought maybe if I changed enough things I would feel better and clearer on the inside.
But what I really needed wasn’t reinvention. It was reconnection.
I had been so focused on improving myself through promising articles, books, and endless media advice that I’d lost sight of my self-wisdom and knowledge. That quiet, grounded part of me who doesn’t need to be shiny to be whole.
I’ve always loved this quote: “It’s hard to remember what you’re good at when you’re constantly swimming upstream.” And one day this quote arrived in my mind like a just-in-time letter I wrote to my future self, knowing how easily I can get caught up in things outside of my control.
Maybe you just need to remember who you were before the world told you to be more impressive.
πWhat part of yourself is asking to be returned to today?
